Rising bike prices against decreasing car prices

What vehicle do you want to buy?

It all depends on what you want to ride. A one lakh car or a one lakh bicycle.

India certainly is shining. With all waiting eagerly waiting for the sensex to hit the 25000 mark something people would have never believed possible a few year back, India is really going strong.

With the launch of the Nano by Tata, Lite by Bajaj and Madone 5.2 by Firefox bikes, they way Indians travel is definitely going to change in the years to come. While there has been a lot of debate on more traffic congestion, increased fuel consumption, pollution nobody has been talking about infrastructure. But that is not what this article is about.

Maruthi 800 is no longer the poor man’s car, with the Nano and Lite fighting for that tag and the bicycle no longer is the poor man’s vehicle with Madone 5.2 selling at Rs.100000. But do we have the space for them to exist mutually. Do we have the roads to ride a Madone with 20 gears and capability to reach 90 kms per hour?
